Fall 2010 Newsletter

Seasons Greetings from the Flower Guy!
After a scorching summer and a wet fall we've arrived in November and thoughts of winter and the holiday season are upon us. In this newsletter I'll have a "show and tell" about our Fifth Annual Fall Festival with a link to some pictures on our website.

Speaking of our website, read on to find out about the changes we've made there and because this newsletter covers November and December, I've included some seasonal information too.

Thanks for your business and I hope you have a safe and happy holiday season.

Fun in the Fall

Our Fall Festival

Were you there? On Saturday September 18, Binleys held our 5th annual Fall Festival. The weather was perfect and the crowds were here. We of course, featured pumpkins and our huge hardy mums, but we added a few things to make the day special.

Our friends the Weavers of Parkland Alpaca Farm brought some of their beautiful animals and staying with the animal theme, the Warren County Sheriff's office sent Officer Terry Combs and his dog Eric. The SPCA of Upstate NY brought some dogs and cats and one of their dogs, Biscuit found a new home.

Our craft fair had 30 vendors and with the addition of about 20 antique cars (including an antique fire truck) there were lots to see and do. I've posted some photos on our website.

Changes, Changes!

Our Bigger & Better Website

Our website has been completely revamped. Please take a few minutes to check it out.

It now opens to a home page featuring a header menu that will direct you to the service you need. Choose from our online shop, the wedding department, the flower shop or the greenhouse. Each section has further information and internal links to help inform and advise you on care of plants or choosing flowers.

The header also has a photo gallery of different arrangements and parties we have done and pictures of events and happenings around our store. There is a section with our newsletters and we will be archiving past newsletters here.

This is also were you connect to our online shop. We've made big changes here too. It has a more modern look and feel with easier access to the choices. While you're there, be sure to bookmark it.

Also on a related topic, We are now on Facebook. I don't know much about it, but Tami, our floral manager is handling it and she tells me customers and friends can post pictures and comments to share. I'm not sure I'm ready for the future, but here it is! I've included a link on the left column of this newsletter. Check it out so we can have another way to stay in touch.

Let me know if you like it. This is a work in progress, so there may be errors that we will be correcting as we go. Please give me any suggestions that you'd like to see and keep checking back to see any additions.

Flowers and Plants as Office Christmas Gifts

The Seasonal Way to Say Thanks

Floral gifts are perfect for clients and employees. It's scientifically proven! Research from Texas A&M University proves that flowers and plants enhance problem solving skills and productivity in the workplace. We recommend that office gifts should be sent the week after Thanksgiving so your gift is among the first to arrive for the most impact.

  • Make an impact: Ask us to deliver a beautifully decorated wreath, festive floral arrangement or a showy poinsettia to your most valued clients.
  • For something creative and fun, we can create an arrangement presented inside or down in a vase. Beautiful mini callas or tulips styled inside a glass container make for a welcome addition when combined with fresh seasonal foliage or decorative grasses.
  • Bring us a coffee mug with your company logo. We'll deliver the coffee mug filled with flowers or a plant. Door swags made from fresh greens.
  • A large fruit and flower basket can be enjoyed by everyone in an office. For a great seasonal add-on, we can include a poinsettia in the basket.
These same ideas work well as personal Christmas gifts also.
